Dare Blankenhorn is a recognised leader and innovator in the global yachting industry. Dare’s journey into the world of yachting began with a profound love for the sea cultivated during his upbringing along the picturesque coastline of North Carolina. With a career spanning over two decades, Dare has earned a reputation as a professional sailor, visionary entrepreneur, and dedicated community leader.
Dare is the founder behind a trio of premier yachting ventures. He began with Charter Caribe, a luxury boutique charter company based in the Caribbean, celebrated for its personalized service, high-end fleet, and curated island-hopping adventures. Under Dare’s leadership, Charter Caribe quickly became a benchmark for excellence in the region.
Expanding his footprint in the industry, Dare also established Caribe Yacht Group, a comprehensive brokerage and yacht sales company dedicated to helping clients buy, sell, and manage luxury vessels with confidence and care. Dare has a deep-rooted relationship with Lagoon Catamarans, spanning two decades. As a trusted partner and advocate for the brand, Dare has contributed to the success of Lagoon Catamarans, helping to shape their reputation as a leading manufacturer of luxury catamarans.
Now, building on the Caribbean success, Dare has launched Apricus Yachting, a bold expansion into the Mediterranean and beyond. A new chapter, Apricus offers global adventures for both yacht owners and charter guests, bringing their signature blend of personalised service, operational excellence and passion for exploration to some of the world’s most iconic and undiscovered waters.
Daniella Cox – Yacht Broker, Clearing House & Account Manager
Daniella’s (Dee) journey began over 10 years ago as an Eco Guide on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, evolving into years spent as a Yacht Chef aboard luxury vessels throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
Now based ashore, Dee has seamlessly transitioned into a dynamic role specializing in Yacht Sales and New Build Project Management. Her deep understanding of life at sea—paired with a sharp eye for detail and design—makes her an invaluable advisor to clients seeking to buy, build, and outfit their ideal yacht. Working closely with yacht owners Dee ensures every unique vision and detail is executed with precision and care.
At Apricus Yachting, Dee wears many hats. In addition to her project-focused responsibilities, Dee manages the Clearing House and Accounting operations; she coordinates charter bookings and yacht availability across the regions and handles yacht accounting and financial operations, ensuring each vessel runs smoothly from both an operational and administrative standpoint. Her meticulous attention to detail, logistical savvy, and compassionate client-first approach makes Dee an invaluable part of the Apricus’ team.
Ross Matthews – Yacht Broker, Logistics & Operations Manager
Ross brings a wealth of real-world yachting experience and a sharp operational mind to his roles at Apricus Yachting. His lifelong connection to the sea began in childhood, inspired by time spent on his grandfather’s boat—igniting a passion for boating that would shape his career.
With over a decade spent as a professional yacht captain, Ross has navigated the waters of Australia, South Africa, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean, completing two Atlantic crossings and managing countless voyages. His years at the helm have given him an intimate understanding of what it takes to keep a vessel running smoothly—knowledge he now channels into operational excellence on shore. Ross transitioned into Yacht Sales two years ago, his background as a Captain has given him a unique advantage when guiding clients through vessel selection, layout considerations, and upgrade planning. Ross works closely with buyers to match them with the right catamaran for their cruising or charter goals, while supporting them through the entire acquisition and setup process.
At Apricus, Ross coordinates the company’s global logistics and operations, ensuring every vessel under the Apricus umbrella is delivered, outfitted, and managed with precision.
He coordinates the movement, setup, and technical support of catamarans across regions. From arranging transport and port services to supervising handovers, his role ensures every yacht is delivered smoothly and fully prepared for use. Ross works directly with captains and owners to make sure each transition is seamless; offering tailored support no matter where their journeys take them. His hands-on knowledge and client-focused approach quickly made him a trusted partner and driving force behind Apricus Yachting.
